Young Adult Support Groups

Young Adult Support Group 
Meets Thursdays 7:00-8:00pm


PGSC's Young Adult Support Group is an ongoing social and emotional learning group for men and women ages 20-29 with moderate-severe anxiety, depression, social anxiety and other life challenges who want to connect, learn from and support others in a healing experience. 




Participants will learn to:

  • Develop mindfulness
  • Hear and channel emotions wisely
  • Navigate social media use
  • Create and maintain positive and supportive relationships
  • Resolve inner conflict, and conflict between people
  • Reduce and manage symptoms of anxiety, depression, and isolation
  • Deal with negative thinking
  • Heal past trauma
  • Make creative decisions
  • Set goals and achieve them
  • Utilize a process called ‘The Warm (as opposed to hot) Seat’ where participants ask each other questions to get to know each other more deeply, and to help each other solve problems
 
 
 
 
 
 

Group Leader Shashi Khanna, LCSW

 Shashi Khanna is an accomplished therapist with over a decade of experience providing integrative therapy, counseling, and education in individual and group settings. Her specialty is helping clients with ADHD, bipolar disorder, depression, addiction, and anxiety disorders through a combination of evidence-based therapies such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and places a strong focus on lifestyle/stress management, and mindfulness.
